Uniastrum Bank provides support for the preparation and issue of the first academic book on nanotechnologies designed for a mass audience in Russia – “Nanotechnologies for everyone”
21 june 2005
Nanotechnology is the “highest form” of technology and leading world powers have invested billions of dollars for research and development of this technology. Scientists are forecasting a nanotechnology and matter manipulation revolution in the 21st century, similar to the computer and information boom in the 20th century. The developments in this sphere will have a far greater impact on mankind than mass literacy, the steam engine or electricity.
In contrast to traditional textbooks and specific literature designed for experts, this book is written in a lively and interesting style, explaining complex subjects in a simplified and engaging fashion. At the same time, Maria Rybalkina’s book grasps all the basic fields of modern nanotechnologies, taking into account Russian realities and the most relevant information from leading analytical agencies such as the Nanotechnology News Network.
Uniastrum Bank has traditionally supported the establishment and development of domestic nanotechnologies. In April 2004 the Bank supported the “1st Competition of youth projects for creating domestic molecular nanotechnologies”.
Already in December 2004 the 2nd All-Russian competition took place where the Bank acted as general sponsor to the event. Uniastrum Bank is actively promoting education and access to information in this sphere and helped create the leading website on nanotechnologies in Russia
