The international conference ‘Mortgages in Russia and the CIS’ took place in Zurich

The international conference ‘Mortgages in Russia and the CIS’ and Russia Primary Mortgage Market Development Project was organized in partnership with International Financial Corporation (IFC) and took place in Zurich on the 20-21st of February 2006.
Uniastrum Chairman George Piskov spoke about specialized financial advisors system development on Russian market. ‘It is very difficult for a client to gain an understanding of a variety of financial and banking services particularly in the field of mortgage. That is the reason for new market players – financial advisors and consultants to come up’ said George Piskov. In 2005 Uniastrum Bank together with Moscow State Lomonosov University launched a new Institute for Independent Financial Advisors (INFIS).
During the last several years Russian mortgage market shows a continuous growth. According to Andrey Kochetkov, Head of Mortgage Department of Uniastrum Bank ‘we are taking into account both Russian market development tendency and western experience while creating new products. As the geography of mortgage loans is expanding and our clients are interested in the increasing of loan amounts we need to improve our services, to create new kinds of attendant products such as life insurance, personal financial planning and debt consolidation’.
